She wrote about the process in her book The Happy Eater, 4 Weeks to a Better Relationship with Food.
Sam lives in Bali with her husband and two children.
Dr Sarah Schenker, the book's nutritional consultant, is one of the UK's leading dietitians. She has a wealth of experience as a health writer and broadcaster, and has served on both professional and government committees.
