Media Reviews

As if by magic my eldest child gravitated towards this book and declared it was her favourite of a set of books I had be sent to review. Together we wondered about why this book appealed to her- I like the squirrel!....he is busy like me and has lots of friends!' Indeed she is busy but I think this book resonated with her on a deeper level - whilst her friendship group is currently settled it has not always been this way. She often will think with me about friendships and how to let friends down gently when she wants to play with somebody new or on her own. Seeing her experience in print and with pictures has been invaluable and empowering for her and now this book sits on her bookshelf and I am sure it will be read for many years to come!

Children will love identifying all the creatures scatterd throughout the book that are not main characters, and the story would be great fun to enact in the classroom.

'The beautiful illustrations include details that the young reader will love to point out and name. The book also supports counting to five and depicts six wonderful creatures in their habitat.'
