Caroline Lawrence grew up in Bakersfield, California and studied Classics at Berkley, later winning a scholarship to study at Cambridge. Caroline has been awarded the Classical Association Prize for a 'significant contribution to the public understanding of Classics' for her Roman Mysteries children's books, also adapted into a successful children's TV show on the BBC. Caroline lives in London.
