Karen worked as a journalist on a number of teen magazines including J-17 and Sugar before she began writing novels full-time. She has since written over 50 books for Scholastic, including the Ally's World and Stella etc. series, and has recently released a new series for younger readers called You, Me and Thing (Faber).
