Colin M Coates teaches Canadian studies and history and is the Director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies at York University. Phillip Buckner is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Commonwealth Studies at the University of London. He is also professor emeritus of History at the University of New Brunswick. P. Whitney Lackenbauer is an associate professor and chair of the Department of History at St. Jerome's University (University of Waterloo). He is a fellow with the Canadian Defence & Foreign Affairs Institute, the Arctic Institute of North America, and the Laurier Centre for Military and Strategic Disarmament Studies. He is the (co-)author or editor of twelve books.
