Author Bio
Sarwar Beg, PhD, is currently working as the Research Scientist at Jubilant Generics Limited, Noida, U.P., India, on the portfolio of QbD implementation in generic product development including solid, liquid, semisolid and injectable dosage forms. He has over seven years of research experience in the field of pharmaceutics, especially in systematic development and characterization of diverse nanostructured drug delivery systems, controlled release systems, bio-enhanced drug delivery systems, and nanomaterials and nanocomposites. Dr. Beg has authored over 120 publications in various high impact peer-reviewed journals, 32 book chapters, seven books and three Indian patent applications to his credit. He is serving as the Regional Editor-Asia of journal Current Nanomedicine (Bentham Science) and as an editorial board member of journals, including Nanotech Research Letters and JSM-Bioavailability and Bioequivalence. His H-index is 20, and his work has been cited over 1800 times. He has also been awarded with an SIPRA Innovative Pharma Research Awards 2016, Eudragit Award 2014 in South-Asia by M/s Evonik, GmbH, Budding QbD Scientist Award 2014, Budding ADME Scientist Award 2013 by M/s Select Biosciences, UK, and Novartis Biocamp Award 2012 for his contribution in pharmaceutical research. In 2017, Dr. Beg was honored by the Honorable Union Health Minister of India and Managing Director, Sun Pharma, with the prestigious Sun Pharma Science Foundation Young Scientist Award. Mahfoozur Rahman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shalom Institute of Health and Allied Sciences, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Allahabad, India, where is also currently working on his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He completed his master's in Pharmacy at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India. His major areas of research interest include development and characterization of nanosized drug delivery systems for inflammatory disorders, such as psoriasis, arthritis, cancer, etc. To date he has published over 75 publications in peer-reviewed journals with H-index of 15 and 15 book chapters with various publishers. He is a member of the IPGA (Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association) and an editorial board member and reviewer of various internationals journals. Md. Abul Barkat, PhD, is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy, K. R. Mangalam University, Gurgaon, India. He has more than five years of research experience in the field of pharmaceutics. His major areas of research interest include herbal and silver-based development and characterization of diverse nanostructured systems, controlled release drug delivery systems, bio-enhanced drug delivery systems, and nanomaterials and nanocomposites. He has authored over 20 publications in various peer-reviewed journals, two book chapters, and two books and also has an Indian patent application to his credit. Dr. Barkat has also participated and presented his research work at conferences in India, Canada, and Spain. He has received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmaceutics) from Integral University Lucknow, India. He has completed his master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Hamdard University, New Delhi, India. Farhan Jalees Ahmad, PhD, is currently a Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, and Dean, Interdisciplinary Sciences, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India. Before that post, he worked at Ranbaxy Research Laboratories for six years, where his domain of research included development, scale-up, technology transfer, and launching of pharmaceutical products, both for domestic and international markets. He has published over 300 papers on nanomedicine in peer-reviewed journals. He has applied for four Indian patents on nano DPI formulations and nanoherbal formulations, and two of his nanoproducts have been approved by the Drug Controller of India for Phase-II clinical studies. A prolific author and researcher, Dr. Ahmad's work has been cited over 8000 times, and his H-index is 42. He has published more than 200 research and review papers and attended many national and international conferences for presentation of research papers.
