The first book hit the presses as Funny Signs, although at the time we had no idea it would be so enthusiastically received, going into five reprints. It also produced a flurry of ever more funny signs which, in 2004, led to another book, More Funny Signs. Writing in that edition, then Getaway editor David Bristow called it 'a tribute to the readers of Getaway, who share with us all other readers the spirit of their journeys through these hilarious, poignant, silly, ridiculous and often bewildering signs.'
