Alexander L. George is the Graham H. Stuart Professor of International Relations, Emeritus, at Stanford University. He is the author of the seminal case study, Woodrow Wilson and Colonel House (with Juliette L. George, John Day Co. 1956), and numerous books including Presidential Decisionmaking in Foreign Policy (Westview Press 1980) and, most recently, Case Studies and Theory Development in the Social Sciences (with Andrew Bennett, MIT Press 2005).
