Author Bio
JONI MARIE NEWMAN is the founder of justthefood.com, and the author of six vegan cookbooks, including The Complete Guide to Vegan Food Substitutions, Vegan Food Gifts, Fusion Food in the Vegan Kitchen, The Best Veggie Burgers on the Planet, and 500 Vegan Recipes. Self-Taught and always learning, Joni spends most of her time in the kitchen. At work and at home, you will find her testing and tasting new recipes and new ideas. When not in the kitchen, she enjoys spending time with her rescue pups and husband in their home in Southern California. GERRIE L. ADAMS has an A.A. degree with high honors from Saddleback Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science/Nutrition. She co-founded Xengaru Fun Foods. She is the Healthy Eating Specialist for Whole Foods Market Tustin/Jamboree. In this position, Gerrie gives lectures, cooking demonstrations, and store tours in support of Whole Foods Market's Health Starts Here program, which educates customers and team members on how to achieve optimum health through incorporating fresh, nutrient dense, low-fat, whole foods into their diet. She has been a member of the Southern California Section of the Institute of Food Technologist since 2000 and served as 2008-2009 Chair. She has also been a member of the National Association of Woman Business Owners and was awarded the 2007 Rising Star in Business by the Woman's Sage organization. She currently resides in Laguna Niguel.
