Knitting Lingerie Style

Knitting Lingerie Style

by Thayer Allyson Gowdy (Photographer), Joan McGowen-Michael (Author)

Synopsis

Each chapter begins with classic lingerie pieces and how-to text on constructing them and then segues into modern, fresh interpretations that can be worn as underwear or outerwear. For example, in the camisole chapter, after teaching knitters how to make a classic camisole, the author presents a twinset as well as a dress that is drawn upon classic camisole styling details. The text also gives an overview of the history of these lingerie styles. Knitting Lingerie Style includes projects that are both youthful and body-baring as well as mature and classic. Sizing is broad. Knitting Lingerie Style will appeal to a diverse population of hobby knitters, young and old, as well as professional knitwear designers who, until now, have not had access to a book that explains the particular challenges that lingerie styles present.
