A puppy 'aaaahhhh' book, full of delightful photographs of lightweights , weeks-old little bundles of canine cuteness, suspended in vintage scales for added emotional effect. From bug-eyed Bostons to dinky Dachshunds, crumpled Bulldogs and leggy Danes, their sweetness and cuddliness emphasised by the colour photographs. The black and white shots meanwhile imbue the pups with subtle contrasts to human photography: a litter of Boxers looking like a 1920s gangster line-up, a Beagle showing childlike curiosity and a German Shepherd resembling a Victorian formal portrait. Photographer Sharon Montrose has captured all the endearing qualities to be found in canine youngsters and transferred them to this wonderfully doggy book.
