Author Bio
Irene F. Day's knowledge and love of Moroccan cuisine and culture is the result of a weekend trip to the country that lasted three years. Fluent in Italian, Spanish, and French, she worked abroad as a general assignment reporter, English teacher, and United Nations public information officer in European refugee camps. Day, a former correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, also worked for the Buenos Aires Herald and United Press International. A Pennsylvania native, she resided in southern California's Ojai Valley until her death in 2000.
