OLE (object linking and embedding) creates data links between applications, making it possible to work on a single file, whilst automatically updating information held on other files. For example, when working on a financial spreadsheet, one can automatically update the figures in a word processed report and an electronic mail message, without having to open them up. This volume concentrates on the capability that makes it possible to manipulate an applications objects from outside the application - OLE Automation. It contains a reference of Automation interfaces and tools, and is particularly for use with version 2.01 of OLE.
