Linda Finlayson has done it again! She's given us a book that not only clearly describes the basic contours of Church History, but also one that draws us in with vivid illustrations and timelines. I want this in the hands of my own children and in the hands of the children of our church. I know I'll be buying copies for other friends and relatives as well. It is an excellent introduction to an important and oft-neglected topic - the work of God in the history of Christ's Church.

This is a helpful and entertaining introduction to the grand sweep of church history. Not only does the text offer a fine narrative of major events and characters but the timeline is especially helpful in allowing children to visualize the interconnection of the events described. A lovely book that will be of help to Sunday school teachers and parents alike.

There are shelves full of books on church history, but almost all of them are directed to adults. This book not only addresses this regrettable situation, but does so with excellence. Parents, teachers and pastors who read through this engaging resource with their children will not only open their eyes to God's continuing work throughout history, but likely learn something themselves!
