Media Reviews

This sturdy, oversized offering presents large, brightly colored capital letters accompanied by a photograph of an animal whose name begins with each letter and a factoid about that animal . . . the animal images are visually striking . . . the one- to two-sentence facts provided about each animal are generally kid-friendly and interesting. Best for animal-obsessed preschoolers who . . . are ready to progress to nudibranches, quetzals and X-ray tetra fish. Oh my. --Kirkus Reviews

This large board book pairs each letter of the alphabet with an animal. The layout is clean, with bright colors that highlight the crisp and detailed photos. Favorite animals are represented (a chimpanzee hangs upside down from a 'C') as are less familiar ones ('H' is for a bird called hoopoe.) Each page also includes a simple, one sentence fact about each animal ('If an iguana's tail breaks off, it will just grow another one.') This animal alphabet book deserves a spot on most shelves. --School Library Journal
