Synopsis

Briar Rose believes in fairy tales . . .

And now, because of a family curse, she's living one. Doomed to fall asleep for one hundred years on her sixteenth birthday, Briar has woken up in the darkest, most twisted fairy tale she could ever have dreamed of - miles away from the safe, boring small-town life that she has left behind.

Briar must fight her way out of the story, but she can't do it alone. She always believed in handsome princes, and now she's met one her only chance is to put her life in his hands, or there will be no happy ever after and no waking up . . .

Media Reviews
Briar Rose was an extra-ordinary novel that I just couldn't put down. I sped through the book so quickly, even though it was over 400 pages! Jana Oliver is a brilliant writer, with a unique and wonderful writing style that really captures your attention and draws you into her world. I can't seem to find a single fault with her writing at all. thebritishbooknerd.blogspot.co.uk No matter how many stories it reminded me of it still stood out as unique in its own right though and it's definitely a book I'd be happy to recommend. If you like your fairytales on the dark side and are a fantasy fan then Briar Rose is definitely a book you'll enjoy! feelingfictional.com Jana Oliver's action-packed re-telling blends all the traditional facets of fairy tales - handsome heroes and vengeful villains - with a fabulously feisty heroine, lashings of laughs and a southern USA style that puts the fun into fantasy. Lancashire Evening Post I would totally recommend this book to anyone who- like me, and like Briar - have always loved fairy tales and who have always wanted a random adventure to happen to them; anywhere, at any time. I loved this book despite its few flaws, and will definitely be looking out for more by the author or more like it The Guardian Children's Books This was a great story, and I hope Ms Oliver will come up with new twists on fairy tales! darkfrannysthoughts.blogspot.co.uk It should go down well with fans of fairy stories, magic, adventure and a little tame romance, and the cover will sell it without too much promotional effort The School Librarian
Author Bio
Jana Oliver's imagination has always had the upper hand despite her attempts to house-train it. When she's not on the road tromping around old cemeteries, she can be found in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband and far too many books.
