Author Bio

Peter Bently lives in the writer-filled town of Totnes with his wife and a ready-made audience of two young children. A prolific picture-book author, he enjoys visiting schools and sharing his writing. Peter has previously published three books with Macmillan: the terrifically toothy THE SHARK IN THE DARK (978 0 230 70735 1) with illustrator Ben Cort, the award-winning CATS AHOY! (978 0 330 51880 2) with Jim Field and the irrestible FARMER CLEGG'S NIGHT OUT (978 0 230 74895 8) also with Jim.

Jim Field is a lead-driven, pencil-pushing, 25-frames-per-second, Led Zeppelin fan. He is also a hugely talented illustrator and animation director whose previous clients have included Waterstones, Sainsbury's, Oxfam, The Independent, The Guardian, The FT, Channel 4, Virgin Mobile and Nokia. RICH WITCH, POOR WITCH is his third picture book and Jim has once again employed his vibrant style and witty detail to brilliant effect.
