Synopsis

Shortlisted for Contemporary Romantic Novel in the Romantic Novelists Associations Book Awards 2014.

Kate left her seaside home town of Lyme Regis for the bright lights of London when she was eighteen, and never looked back. She had it all: the glamorous career, the lovely house, the gorgeous husband.

But now she's back: unemployed, separated, and holed up in her dead granny's bungalow. Worse still, she's forced to share the bungalow with Ben, the clueless and domestically challenged fiance of her bossy sister Prue.

Ben is a man in need of simple instruction. And Kate is a woman in need of a project. So she decides to secretly train Ben, her foster husband, as a selfless pre-wedding gift to her sister.

But Kate may still have a few lessons of her own to learn...

Media Reviews
'I couldn't put Lizzy Harrison Loses Control down. Funny, moving, totally gripping, I just wanted to start it all over again the moment I'd finished it' Harriet Evans 'If you have read Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series, you'll know what we mean when we say you'll get the same sniggering-on-the-bus moments' Heat 'Girlie, fun and well written, this will definitely make you giggle' Closer 'The novel explores that age where you should really see yourself as being a grown-up but are still able to feel so much of your teenage self, a period of time that I believe lots of women in their twenties and early thirties will admit to finding difficult. Wright shows that Kate is still developing and growing as a person through a mixture of laugh-out-loud moments and memories that make you want to weep for her. Despite some harrowing events plus some moments of self-doubt, the novel is light-hearted, optimistic and left me with a smile on my face. A thoroughly enjoyable and superbly written tale!' Novelicious.com 'This novel is full of humour, heart, superb characters and wise sentiment. Pippa Wright is, without a doubt, one of my most favourite writers of women's fiction. Her stories are refreshing, utterly modern and not at all frilly. I love it when reading a book leaves you feeling like you've just spent the night chatting to a friend.' Caroline Smailes, author of 99 Reasons Why on The Foster Husband 'I managed to get through this book in less than 24 hours so would definitely recommend it!' lauralovelockbookreviews.wordpress.com on The Foster Husband
