Not If I Save You First

Not If I Save You First

by Ally Carter (Author)

Synopsis

Dear Logan,
Someday I'm going to write a book: How Not to Die in Alaska - A Girl's Guide to Fashionable Survival.

I bet you don't know that a hair pin can make an excellent fishing hook. You may think you can use just any kind of mud for mud masks, but trust me, you CAN'T! In a pinch, nothing starts a fire like nail polish remover. Alaska is tough. You might know this, if you ever replied to my letters.

After Maddie's Secret Service dad takes a bullet for the president, he takes Maddie somewhere he thinks they'll be safe - far away from the White House and the president's son, Logan.

But when Logan comes to Alaska, so does the danger.

If there's one thing Alaska has taught Maddie, it's how to survive. And now her best friend's life depends on it ...

An edge-of-your-seat thriller from the internationally bestselling author of Gallagher Girls

Media Reviews
A brilliant book by Ally. It was such an amazing standalone that I can't wait for everyone to read it. * The Reader's Corner *
...a fast-paced and gripping read. It's got some serious girl-power, plenty of action scenes and some great sarcastic lines. * Read by Jess *
An entertaining, fast-paced, rollicking romp through White House and the wilds of Alaska. * The School Librarian *
If you want a book full of girl power, you've come to the right place. [...] Ally always knows a way to a girls/readers heart, her characters and stories are always fashionable, relatable, funny and for me a breath of fresh air. * Never Judge a Book By It's Cover *
What most enthralled me about this novel is its challenges of gender stereotypes. Rather that portraying a thriller where the innocent female character is expected to be saved by the male protagonist, we are presented with a strong independent individual, who is able to stand on her own. To make this a further empowering read Maddy proves that in order to be a warrior, there is no expectation to lose your femininity when fighting the bad guys. Carter's writing prose allows for a tense read with much comedic relief while portraying an important message. * That Fiction Life *
It's fun, dangerous, action packed and keeps you wanting to read more to see what other tricks Maddie has up her sleeve. * Autumn Frost (blog) *
