Media Reviews
Counting With Tiny Cat is a delightfully fun picture book from Viviane Schwarz. Featuring that fabulous cat from the There Are Cats In This Book series, it showcases Schwarz's fun visual humour and witty narrative.[...] Great use of white space, help make the bold strokes of Tiny Cat vibrant and full of character. Almost imperceptibly small changes to the brush strokes, ingeniously alter the cat's expression making for fun reactions. It is quite clear that Counting With Tiny Cat is the best way to count! And if you need more Tiny Cat (of course you do), take a peek at the end papers... adorable! * My Book Corner *
A wonderful visual comedy with a delightfully playful star: Tiny Cat most definitely commands the performance, and viewers will definitely demand instant encores. * Red Reading Hub *
A delightful, visual feast. * Armadillo *
I love this book! [...] This very clever book has hardly any words, but tell an hilarious, laugh out loud story with simple, expressive pictures. Great for new or reluctant readers, but fun for everyone. * Primary Times *
As usual the end papers are a delight and the smart red binding makes this book really stand out on the shelf. Little readers will love counting along and there will be squeals of delight as Tiny Cat loses control of the wool. In the end, Tiny Cat does what cats do best after making a mess, curling up for a very cosy nap. A lovely little book for even the youngest cat-lovers * BookTrust *
Counting with Tiny Cat is exactly what you think it is going to be. Tiny Cat teaches you how to count... in a very unique way. I loved how cute the counting was throughout the book and it made it really fun. * Mehimthedogandthebaby.com *
It starts with nothing, then it begins to tally up the gains and finally, our feline fluffmonger is overwhelmed by a mountain of bright red balls of wool. I could read it over and over again and not get bored with that animal's wide-eyed gulp when it realises it has dropped a precious ball but its paws are already too full with the rest to retrieve it. Just like certain politicians right now. * Families South East London *
Viviane Schwarz's amazing characterization and bold illustrative style tells a tale of huge emotional scope [...] The book oozes charm and character whilst actually doing some pretty sophisticated work around concepts of numbers [...] * The School Librarian *
