Author Bio
Geraldine McCaughrean was born in London and at first intended to become a teacher. Instead she began writing after taking a job in a major publishing company. She has written 160 books and plays for both adults and children and has won multiple awards including the Carnegie Medal, the Whitbread Children's Book Award (three times) and the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. She is also the author of Peter Pan in Scarlet, the first official sequel to the treasured masterpiece Peter Pan. Geraldine lives in Berkshire with her husband and actress daughter. Kristina Swarner graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Often described as magical and dreamlike, Kristina's work draws much of its imagery and inspiration from memories of exploring old houses, woods and gardens when she was a child. Her work has won the 2011 and 2008 Sydney Taylor Gold Medals, the 2011 Sydney Taylor Silver Medal, and the Koret International Book Award, as well as awards from Print, How and RSVP.
