Author Bio
Lewis Carroll was born on 27 January 1832. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford and went on to become a mathematics lecturer there from 1855 to 1881. Lewis Carroll's most famous works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (published in 1865) and the sequel Alice Through the Looking-Glass, which contained the nonsense poem classic The Jabberwocky (published in 1872). He died of bronchitis on 14 July 1898. Helen Oxenbury is among the most popular and critically-acclaimed illustrators of her time. Her numerous books for children include Smarties Book Prize-winning Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell; We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen; as well as her classic board books for babies.
