Synopsis

Author Bio
Philippa Pearce (1920-2006) was a scriptwriter-producer for the BBC, a children's book editor, a lecturer and freelance writer for radio and newspapers, as well as the author of some of the best-loved children's books of the twentieth century. She won a Carnegie Medal for Tom's Midnight Garden and the Whitbread Prize for The Battle of Bubble and Squeak. Wayne Anderson is an acclaimed illustrator.
