Richard Holmes became Colonel of the Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment in 1999. He has written over a dozen books on military topics, and has written and presented several television programmes, including two six-part BBC TWO series, War Walks I and II, as well as a series on the Western Front. He wrote the series' accompanying books, as well as co-writing the book to accompany the prizewinning BBC series Firing Line. Richard lives in Shrivenham.
