Author Bio
Michael Morpurgo's skill as a storyteller is uncontested. His bestselling book War Horse has been translated into 40 languages and has recently been made into a hugely successful film by Steven Spielberg. Michael describes himself as oldish, married with three children, and a grandfather six times over. Sophie Allsopp studied for her illustration degree in Bath, then went on to win several awards, including a grant from the Prince of Wales Trust to set up her illustration business. Sophie has been illustrating for almost twenty years. Emma Chichester Clark is one of the country's top children's books illustrators, and is a past winner of the Mother Goose award. She has been nominated for the Kate Greenaway medal and shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler award twice. She studied at the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College, where she was taught by Quentin Blake. Quentin Blake's illustration has now taken on iconic status and is famous throughout the world. The inaugural children's laureate, he is one of our best-loved advocates for everything to do with the children's book. Michael Foreman is an award-winning illustrator of over 180 books. He has contributed to books by Roald Dahl, Oscar Wilde and Charles Dickens, as well as writing and illustrating his own books. Prizes include the Kate Greenaway Award (twice), the Smarties Book Prize, the Kurt Maschler Award, the Children's Book Award and the Bologna Book Prize.
