Gareth (The Lonely Lords)

Gareth (The Lonely Lords)

by Grace Burrowes (Author)

Synopsis

Callista's will leaves her thriving brothel to a distant cousin, Felicity Worthington, who is herself fast slipping toward poverty or worse. Gareth is to help Felicity learn to run the establishment, and he has less than 90 days to pass her off as a skilled madam. Felicity has avoided accepting her cousin's bequest, but hopes to discreetly sell the establishment without any scandal touching her or her younger sister. If Gareth refuses to assist her, the only other option is a dissolute roue, Viscount Riverton. Gareth suspends his tomcatting long enough to educate Felicity, but comes to like and respect her as well. When the day comes to consummate their union - a madam has to at least know the rudiments, surely? - he's incapable of deflowering her purely as part of a commercial bargain. When Riverton kidnaps Felicity's sister, Gareth affects a daring rescue. Felicity realizes she has the backbone to take her place as a marchioness, while Gareth has the heart to remain true to her for the rest of their happily ever after lives.
