Book Overview: Not only focused on the US (or the UK), but the international outlook is in-built. Several global editions of US textbooks now have sections on foreign markets, but these often come across as 'alibi' additions (when central banks are discussed, it's still mostly about the Fed, parts on corporate bond markets take US conditions for granted, etc) which make them inappropriate to use in Europe. That's not the case here. - Jens Forssbaeck, Lund University The unique selling point is that it gives a (still) up-to-date overview of international and national banking. It strongest points are the variety of different types of banks and markets. - Magnus Willesson, Linneuniversitet This is good for the introductory level at any age. I use it for post graduate working adults who often have no recent experience of study in this area at all. I also use it with undergraduates at the introductory level (irrespective of year of study). It would undermine the 'style'/'quality' / 'niche' of the book were you to start trying to move to a 'Pilbeam' type approach with a numerical theoretical approach. His is a different approach. - Paul Bullock, London Met University I am not aware of any other textbook that provides such a wide (more or less complete) overview of global financial markets - Sushil Mohan
