This book is structured as a compilation of contributed chapters that review specific topics with inclusion of step-by-step protocols.
The first part of the book focuses on not only the basic but also the contemporary sample preparation techniques in LC-MS bioanalysis. These include protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, solid phase extraction, on-line extraction and column switching, equilibrium dialysis, ultracentrifugation and ultrafiltration, phospholipids depletion, salting-out assisted liquid-liquid extraction, supported liquid extraction, immunocapture, microextraction, microsampling, extraction via nanomaterials, extraction via molecularly imprinted polymers, stir bar sorptive extraction, monolithic spin column extraction, aptamer-based sample preparation, and sample extraction via electromembranes.
The second part of the book covers the current sample preparation techniques for LC-MS bioanalysis of uncommon biological sample matrices. These matrices include but are not limited to tissues, hair, nail, skins, bones, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, sweat, tears, aqueous humor, and liposomal samples.
The third part of the book starts with key pre-analytical considerations and derivatization strategies in LC-MS bioanalysis, followed by detailed introductions of sample preparation techniques for quantitative LC-MS bioanalysis of lipids, peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and anti-drug conjugates (ADCs).
