Author Bio

Nigel Dunnett's innovative approach to planting in parks and public places was inspired by the Amstelveen gardens, pioneering examples of naturalistic planting on the outskirts of Amsterdam. His woodland garden at Trentham Park, waterwise planting Beech Garden at the Barbican Centre and the meadow planting at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park take naturalistic planting to a new level. His award-winning show gardens for Chelsea and Hampton Court that showcase green roofs, rainwater harvesting and ecological planting have received great acclaim. Nigel is ambassador of the RHS campaign Greening Grey Britain and Professor of Planting Design and Vegetative Ecology at Sheffield University. He is author of many books on his specialist subjects and lectures at universities, design schools and plant societies throughout the world.
