Media Reviews
This is such a great and tumbling story! It seems darker and more introspective than the first book - and Beth Webb's succinct, direct sentences tease out the narrative like an intricate and beautiful spell. Fleabag's adventures have escalated, and once again he manages to use nine more lives in a seemingly endless supply. Gemma's trials truthfully echo moments we all go through. The pride the reader feels as she regains her confidence is heart-stirring and joyous. Fleabag and the Fire Cat is an inspirational dark adventure mixed with cats, dragons, Blue Magic and in the end - triumph! Review by Mary Clarke, Waterstones.
Author Bio
Beth Webb always wanted to write, but couldn't think of any stories until she moved to Somerset. Since then she's never stopped writing, producing Junk Yard Dragon for younger children, the Fleabag books for older children and the Star Dancer Series for teenagers to adults. Now with thirteen titles to her name, she is working on three more children's books and another two teen titles. Beth is addicted to reading, gardening and walking and would rather have a book than a bar of chocolate any day (!). She dreams of having the time to paint in oils, and to travel across Canada by train, but not at the same time. She is a professional storyteller and a creative writing tutor. She has also worked as a radio producer and broadcaster, a cook, a cleaner and a psychological illustrator. Her life is ruled by two determined moggies and four rather wonderful grown up children.
