Bowing to Winter

Bowing to Winter

by JuneHall (Author)

Synopsis

This is the second poetry collection by former publisher and literary agent, June Hall. It includes accessible, inspiring poems on central theme of facing change and crisis. This is a slim individual volume in the same tradition as Bloodaxe's anthologies, Being Alive, Stayling Alive . Difficult situations are given space and find a brave new language for which other people facing such situations will be grateful. For example: living with chronic or life-threatening illness; the stillbirth of a baby; difficulties of dealing with teenagers; or joy in or worries about the natural world. Poems use imaginary and true personal stories, including in the latter category, childhood memories, living with PD, children deaths and illnesses, beauty of the natural world, environmental issues, and the practice of Zen. This is an inspirational collection by a woman who tries to live in the moment.
