One Per Cent: The Patient Patient

One Per Cent: The Patient Patient

by PercyJ.Salmon (Author)

Synopsis

When Percy went into hospital for his knee replacement, he was told fourteen to sixteen days. In the end he kept a diary covering a stay of over six months. In a seemingly never-ending life, where the wheels of the drug trolley were the new day's greeting, Percy underwent every conceivable complication possible. His stay was made bearable by the cheerful staff who looked after him. Getting on in years, and not without a few aches and pains, Percy is no moaner, no Victor Meldrew. In fact, he is the complete opposite -- a lover of life, appreciative of everything he sees, and determined to enjoy every single moment he has, even if it's six months in hospital. As he says, in this twenty-first century, medical advance helped him get there in the end. Not that many years ago he would have made either an amputee or a victim of the Grim Reaper. He persevered, suffered the fact that in everything that went wrong he was always the 'one per cent', and waited cheerfully, hoping the higher percentages were just around the corner...'One Per Cent' is a must for anyone fearing hospital and wanting to know how to cope with it.
