Over six centuries the Uttleys have enjoyed a varied and colourful history. Documents found during the authors' research into the family past show the Uttleys were involved in a 150-year feud, that their deeds included land-grabbing, cattle stealing, debasing coinage and an appearance before the notorious Court of the Star Chamber. The Uttleys have also played their part at Agincourt, the War of the Roses, the Civil War and the two World Wars.
