Intermediate Systems Analysis has been designed specifically for the City and Guilds of London Institute (G&G) 726 Information Technology Scheme. The authors of this book were responsible for writing the syllabus of the intermediate level Systems Analysis and Design module 726/250 and it covers the new syllabus exactly. This book serves as a practical aid for students but should also serve as a source book for trainers and lecturers. It can be used as a classroom text, a source of revision problems and exercises, or can be used by the student working independently. Each section starts with clear learning objectives which define for the students either the skills they should be able to demonstrate on completing the section, or the level of competance and knowledge they should have reached. First, the basic concepts are fully explained in plain English, with examples illustrating all the important points. Where the objective is skill-based, the section provides several exercises of increasing skill levels which are worked through step by step, and finally presented as full model answers. As well as testing the student's understanding within each section, there is also a multiple-choice examination covering every objective taught and where longer practical exercises are called for case study examples are provided, again with fully worked answers.
