Within the Beatles, John wanted to change the world and Paul wanted to entertain, but George just wanted to make music. He came up with some of incredible guitar breaks and wrote some of the Beatles' best songs: Here Comes the Sun , Something - which Sinatra covered and famously declared the perfect love song - All Things Must Pass , My Sweet Lord , Blue Jay Way , Within You, Without You , While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Taxman . At the same time, he was reflecting his spirituality by breaking into more esoteric territory with sitar and Indian-influenced musical experiments. Viewed by many as hidden by the shadow cast by Lennon and McCartney, Harrison's music nonetheless stands on its own merits as an impressive body of work. Leng takes a considered look as both Harrison's contribution to the Beatles, but also the solo work that started with the release in 1970 of his epic masterpiece All Things Must Pass , and the book includes a complete Harrison discography.
