Patricia A. Kirk has been a fitness instructor since 1985 and has taught fitness walking since 1989. In addition to teaching rugged walking to clients at Rolling Hills Club, a health/fitness facility where she serves as general manager, Patricia frequently educates corporate employees and fitness professionals on the benefits of her walking program. She also leads weekend fitness retreats, during which she teaches rugged walking and presents workshops on nutrition, fitness and health, and stress reduction.

Patricia holds a Masters degree in exercise science and cardiac rehabilitation from Northeastern Illinois University. She is an ACE Certified Instructor and a former chairperson of the ACE Instructor Certification Exam Committee. She is a board member of U.C. Berkeley's Advisory Committee for Health and Fitness Management Certification Program. She also is a member of both the International Health and Racquet Sports Association and the International Dance Exercise Association.

Patricia currently lives in Novato, California. Her interests include writing, hiking, mountain biking, and photography.
