Diane L. Gill is a professor and former head of the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She was editor of the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, and serves on editorial the boards of several sport and exercise psychology publications. She was president of the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (NASPSPA), Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology (AAASP) charter member and fellow, and current president of Division 47 (Exercise and Sport) of the American Psychological Association (APA). Her research interests focus on physical activity and psychological well being across the lifespan, with an emphasis in social psychology.
