Media Reviews
'Its young Dublin hero sets out to find his missing scientist father. His journey takes him into captivity on a remote island off the Galway coast, where illegal research into stem cells and cloning are being carried out. Issues such as the difference between ethnical and unethical research, and how these relate to the treatment of disability, are explored. Family break-ups and the relationship between fathers and sons also figures. The happy ending is reassuring for the young reader.' -- The Sunday Independent * The Sunday Independent *
'Excellent ... uncompromising ... a powerful story. McDonnell writes with depth and honesty.' -- Sunday Business Post * Sunday Business Post *
'Combines an exciting story with real and very topical issues. McDonnell's descriptions are cruelly graphic and yet told with infinite tenderness.' -- Books Ireland * Books Ireland *
'A good, moody thriller ... an excellent read.' -- The Irish Times * The Irish Times *
'This electrifying thriller will have the reader enthralled to the very last page.' -- Cheri Lloyd - writeaway.org.uk
'I thought that this book had a unique plot compared to other novels. The plot was exciting and dangerous. This is an excellent read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a tensely plotted thriller' -- Lesley Patterson - Teen Titles magazine
