Barbara Taylor is an environmental scientist. She has worked for the Natural History Museum, and as an editor for several major children's book publishers. She is now a full-time author and editor of science and natural history books for children. Her many publications include the Fun With Science series. Jane Carroll is a young illustrator who has worked extensively as a designer of fabrics and gift wrapping and won the Regent Street Christmas Lights competition in 1987.
