  Covering major themes of life, faith and commitment, this is a book of daily personal prayer arranged on a monthly basis. As well as original reflection, it draws on the treasuries of prayer from the British and world churches, containing specific intercessions for the work and personnel of the Church of Scotland. The book has been designed for immediate use by those who pray regularly and by those who are reticent, and is arranged in two sections. The first is based on two themes: the Proverbs or wise sayings from the Old Testament; and the so-called I am sayings of Jesus. These two themes are interspersed with each other. The second section of the book is a calendar of daily readings where a reading is offered for each day of the year.
