Wallace Wattles (1860 - 1911) was an American author and 'New Thought' writer, whose work remains widely quoted and in print in the 'New Thought' and self-help movements. The Science of Getting Rich is his best known work.
Through his personal study and experimentation Wattles claimed to have discovered the truth of 'New Thought' principles and put them into practice in his own life. A practical author, Wattles encouraged his readers to test his theories on themselves rather than take his word as an authority.
Tom Butler-Bowdon is a recognized expert on personal development literature in both the UK and the US. He is the series editor for the Capstone Classics books and author of five bestselling books on the classic writings in self-help and motivation, including 50 Self-Help Classics, which won the 2004 Benjamin Franklin award.
