Author Bio
John F. Deane is the author of two previous novels, two story collections, and several books of poetry. He has been shortlisted for both the T.S. Eliot Prize and The Irish Times Now Award. Most recently he was the winner of the Inaugural Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Prize (Feb 2010). Deane is the founder of Poetry Ireland, the National Poetry Society, and of The Dedalus Press. In 2007 the French government honoured him as a 'Chevalier de l'ordre des arts et des lettres'. He was born in Achill Island, County Mayo, and now lives in Dublin.
