Assurance: An Anthology

by Michael Seed (Author)

Synopsis

This profoundly encouraging anthology contains poetry, biblical passages, excerpts, and more sent in from contributors who selected the pieces that most inspired them in times of crisis or difficulty: from Royals Duchess of Kent and Princess Michael, to writers John Bayley, Muriel Spark and Beryl Bainbridge; politicians including Tony Blair, Hillary Clinton and Anne Widdicombe; the Dalai Lama; Kiri Te Kanawa, Joan Sutherland and many more. Royalties from the book will go to charity, and the original letters sent in as contributions were auctioned at Harrods to raise further money for charity.

Media Reviews
Many wonder just how Hillary Clinton has survived the humiliation of being married to a man whose consumption of burgers is only matched by his appetite for the fairer sex. I can tell you. In Continuum s forthcoming Assurance Mrs. Clinton reveals that she turns to a passage in the Sermon on the Mount during times of difficulty (most of the last eight years, I assume). I can just imagine her reading some of those lines. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely take that, all you Republicans who scuppered my health-care plans. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God huh, no chance for you, Bill. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward it is destined that I will win that Senate race. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled damn right, I will. I haven t put up with all this for nothing.
