Born in Glasgow, June Skinner Sawyers has written extensively about music, travel, history, spirituality, and popular culture. She contributes regularly for the Chicago Tribune, where she used to write a nightlife column, and the San Francisco Chronicle. She has taught numerous classes in the humanities at the Newberry Library in Chicago, including a course that studied the music of Bruce Springsteen.
