Media Reviews
Evil and the Cross is a must read. It should be required of every theologian and every seminarian (the book actually began as a series of articles in Hokhma, a French journal for theology students). But, speaking as a pastor, it is just the sort of theology pastors should read as well. Not only does Blocker treat a universal pastoral issue what pastor has not faced the why question? he also models pastoral theologizing, teasing out as he goes the real-life implications of his analysis. Further, while the book would probably overtax readers without some background in theology (and challenge those who do!), it is well-written and manages that most artful balance of enough but not too much, so as to be really useful.-- (03/01/2007)
