Birds

by JeffreyFisher (Author)

Synopsis

Birds are some of the world's most intriguing creatures. In the simply titled Birds , internationally renowned artist Jeffrey Fisher captures their timeless elegance and beauty in 46 magnificent hand-painted portraits. Each spread features a different bird in Fisher's signature style, paired with thoughtful musings on the species' history and lore. There are recognizable and rare birds in equal measure - the Great Spotted Kiwi, the European Bee-Eater, and the Kakapo are portrayed in all their splendor. This perfectly designed and produced jacketed hardcover follows the tradition of giftable Chronicle Books such as The Meaning of Flowers and The Meaning of Herbs and is Jeffrey Fisher's first artistic monograph. Unlike traditional bird guides, however, this is a gorgeous art object - and a perfect addition to any bird lover's bookshelf.
