The Witch's Child

by JosA.Smith (Illustrator), Arthur Yorinks (Author)

Synopsis

This is a scary story about a witch who desires a child of her own. She makes one from straw and scraps of cloth and names her "Rosalie." However, she can't bring the rag child to life. In her anger, she decides if she can't have a child, then no one can, and turns the children who cross her path into shrubs. Until one day, a girl stumbles into the witch's house while she is away. The girl discovers the rag child and hugs her and straightens her clothes etc. These acts of caring bring the doll to life. The witch upon returning is enraged by the child and tries to grab her, but the rag child defends the girl and destroys the evil witch.
