Gay Talese is the author of numerous best-sellers. Among his many accomplishments, he has been credited by Tom Wolfe with originating the influential form of non-fiction writing called The New Journalism while at Esquire Magazine in the 1960s. He lives in New York City. James Barron is a veteran reporter for The New York Times. His writing has appeared in virtually every section of the paper, from breaking news coverage of the September 11 attacks and the 2003 New York City blackout to The Gates public art installation in Central Park. He lives in New York City.
