Mosaics in an Afternoon

Mosaics in an Afternoon

by Connie Sheerin (Author)

Synopsis

They may look like professional art, but they're so simple you can do them in one afternoon! Transfer a design, snip tiles or glass into shape, add found objects like shells or buttons, and glue them down. Cover it all with grout, then allow it to set and wipe clean. You've got a completed mosaic ' that's all there is to it! Some examples of unique projects to be found in this book: a mirror fashioned out of 'Mother's China'; glass-studded candleholders that reflect firelight beautifully; terracotta flowerpots with stencilled designs and tiles or frames for treasured pictures.

Author Bio
Connie Sheerin has crafted in one way or another for as long as she can remember. Although she majored in communication, she earned money in college by doing pastel portraits of her friends. After spending ten years working in marketing, Connie tired of the fast pace and returned to the craft industry in 1995. Today, she designs and writes, and is a member of the Society of Craft Designers. Her favourite craft is mosaics, and her book Creative Mosaics was published in 1998.
