Author Bio

Les Freed is a Contributing Editor at PC Magazine and author or co-author of 11 books on computing and networking, including the award-winning How Networks Work. Back in a previous lifetime, Les was a senior videotape editor at CBS News, where he covered national and international news events for The CBS Evening News. After leaving CBS, Les developed Crosstalk, one of the first data communications programs for PCs, and one of the first certified million-selling computer programs ever.
